noli's read

The idea of strengthening stabilizer muscles to protect joints is solidly validated by research. For example, a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating neuromuscular stability programs demonstrates that the regular integration of core and joint control exercises significantly reduces the risk of injury. However, the claim that these exercises must imperatively be done at the start of a session to 'activate' supposedly dormant muscles is scientifically exaggerated. Studies in neuromuscular physiology remind us that a healthy muscle is never truly deactivated, as our capacity for voluntary activation is already maximal. While these movements as part of a warm-up improve coordination and motor control for the upcoming session, their regular performance remains beneficial regardless of the time of day chosen.
