what it claims

Dry Finnish sauna is the best-studied form for long-term cardiovascular benefit, at several sessions a week; but the claim that sweating clears microplastics from the body has no source — it's a leap from a study about heavy metals, not microplastics.

This 27-point list mixes well-supported claims with one clear overreach. The best-confirmed point: dry Finnish sauna, at 4-7 sessions a week, is the most-studied form of heat therapy and the one most tied to reduced cardiovascular mortality in the Finnish KIHD cohort; infrared and wet (Waon) saunas are mostly studied in specific cardiac-patient populations, with a much thinner evidence base for general-population longevity benefit — which the list states correctly. On the other hand, the claim that sauna "removes microplastics" has no traceable source: the one relevant sweat study (Genuis et al. 2011) documents increased excretion of heavy metals (aluminum, cadmium, cobalt, lead) through sweat — not microplastics, an entirely different mechanism being conflated here with a trending topic. Icing the testicles after heat exposure remains a plausible but untested extension of the well-established finding that repeated heat reversibly lowers sperm quality (a 3-month intervention study, reversible within roughly 6 months). The rest (hydration, avoiding polyester, a 2-week acclimation period) is reasonable practical guidance consistent with thermoregulation physiology, without being the result of dedicated trials.
