The headline "100%" links, in small print, to a specific methodology: a self-assessment (the subject rates their own wrinkles), on just 52 people, over 12 weeks — with no mention of a placebo arm or blinded evaluator. Vichy Laboratoires' own registered trials on clinicaltrials.gov for the Collagen 16 line (NCT07473037, NCT07446361) confirm this pattern: single-site, single-blind (investigator only, not the subject) studies that list "self-perceived" improvement as a secondary endpoint. A meta-analysis of 23 randomized trials published in The American Journal of Medicine (Myung & Park, 2025) on collagen supplements shows exactly the bias this kind of study illustrates: industry-funded trials report significant benefits, while independent, high-quality trials find no significant effect on wrinkles, hydration, or elasticity. Cosmetic peptide/niacinamide serums do have genuine independent evidence behind them (a randomized JDD trial comparing a cosmetic regimen to tretinoin shows real wrinkle improvement), but nothing here confirms "Collagen 16" reaches that same evidence bar, since the only number disclosed comes from an unblinded, brand-run study on a small sample. Verdict: overstated — the "100%" is a methodology artifact (self-report, small N, sponsor-run study), not an independently validated measure of clinical efficacy.
