What Noli has graded

Vitamin D3 genuinely helps calcium absorption and becomes worthwhile when blood levels are actually low — but claims of general immune support and cardiac/blood-sugar benefit go beyond what the major trials show in adults who aren't deficient.

The full read

Source: product listing for an Indian vitamin D3 supplement (D-Rise 2000, USV brand), with no study named in the listing itself. Evidence used to check the claim: the VITAL trial (25,871 adults, JAMA) and the D2d trial (2,423 high-risk adults, New England Journal of Medicine, 2019). The calcium-absorption mechanism is well established and uncontested. VITAL, however, found no significant reduction in cardiovascular events or cancer in broadly replete adults, and D2d showed no significant reduction in new-onset diabetes risk with 4000 IU/day supplementation in high-risk adults. The product listing pairs a real mechanism (calcium) with broader prevention claims that the strongest randomized trials on the topic don't confirm. Direction: causal for calcium absorption, associational and unconfirmed for the rest.
