The fennel-plus-cumin base is the same as in the other recipes in this batch, and rests on the same solid evidence: a randomized trial on a comparable blend (Persian-FACT) reduced bloating within the first week, and cumin measurably sped up bowel return after abdominal surgery in a clinical trial. The ginger added here has its own dedicated literature: it's traditionally used and documented to speed gastric emptying and ease nausea, which complements rather than contradicts the carminative effect of fennel and cumin. Honey has no demonstrated digestive role here; it mostly softens the taste. The whole thing remains an untested homemade combination as such, but each ingredient has a mechanism and evidence pointing the same direction.
