This is a list of six benefits, and they aren't equally solid. The range-of-motion improvement is the best established (shown almost universally per a 2025 Sports Medicine meta-analysis). Reduced soreness is directly contradicted by a systematic review published in the British Medical Journal (Herbert & Gajdosik, 2002): stretching before or after exercise doesn't meaningfully reduce soreness (0.9mm on a 100mm scale, not significant). Better posture from pre-workout stretching also lacks a solid basis: an expert synthesis (Slater et al., 2019) finds no strong, consistent link between a particular posture and pain, nor evidence that a few pre-session stretches fix 'good' posture. Local blood flow and mental preparation are plausible and low-risk to claim, but remain modest, subjective effects rather than measured benefits. This post stacks one real benefit (flexibility) with one contradicted by the literature (soreness) and some overly broad claims (performance, posture) to look like a comprehensive, solid list.
