What Noli has graded

Seven hours of sleep is framed as the optimal point — go well under or well over and functioning degrades.

The full read

Same narrative gimmick as other "how long do you sleep" posts: a precise effect assigned to every hour, right up to invoking "hypersomnia" at 20h as something needing medical attention. Stripped of that dramatization, the core thesis (roughly 7h is optimal, both extremes carry risk) holds up — it's the exact dip found by the big all-cause mortality meta-analyses (JAHA, 57 reports; GeroScience 2025, 79 cohorts), with minimal relative risk around 7h and rising in both directions. The hour-by-hour content itself ("5 hours = unmotivated to hit your goals," "10 hours = trouble concentrating") is narration without a source, not data measured at that level of detail — and naming a disorder at the 20h mark goes well beyond what a general-audience post can establish without a clinical read. The general benchmark (aim around 7-8h) is solid; the hour-by-hour detail isn't.
