The core claim — that slow, deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system and lowers stress — is one of the better-supported mechanisms in the breathing research: several randomized trials (a 2017 Frontiers pilot RCT, and a 2024 study following a Trier Social Stress Test) show diaphragmatic breathing training measurably lowers salivary cortisol versus controls. The 'more oxygen to your brain sharpens focus' part is a misleading shortcut, though: at rest your blood is already about 98% oxygen-saturated, so breathing deeper doesn't meaningfully add oxygen delivery — the real effect runs through CO2 regulation and nervous-system arousal, not an oxygen top-up. The posture and muscle-tension claims are plausible — deep breathing does engage the diaphragm and can release incidental tension — but haven't been tested as rigorously as the cortisol findings. The rest of the list (creativity, stable energy, burnout prevention) is reasonable intuition rather than a named, tested finding. Verdict: mixed — the central claim (calm, lower cortisol) holds up, but the stated mechanism ('more oxygen') is wrong, and the rest of the list stretches past the evidence.
