What Noli has graded

Eating an Activia yogurt daily — twice as fermented as a regular yogurt and rich in billions of probiotics — is said to support digestion.

Trials on comparable probiotic yogurts paint a mixed picture rather than a clear verdict. A double-blind crossover trial on a synbiotic yogurt didn't improve gut transit time in healthy adults, even though it was well tolerated. Other trials on specific strains (Bifidobacterium lactis HN019, L. plantarum) do show a measurable shortening of transit time or better stool frequency in constipated people — a different population than the one the ad targets. A more recent trial on plain yogurt (no particular added strain) found increased microbiome diversity and a slight improvement in defecation scores in healthy adults, which supports the general ad message but is about fermentation broadly rather than 'Activia' specifically. So the benefit is real but modest in an already-healthy person, and the ad doesn't cite any product-specific study to back the 'twice the ferment' claim.
